Self-Care Academy
Teachers are impacted by some of the highest levels of stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue and yet rarely take the time that is necessary for self-care. Moreover, the term “self-care” has become weaponized for educators, putting the blame of an overworked profession back on the teachers. When educators take time to replenish their spirit and make their own personal health and wellness a priority, they are able to serve others fully and be the best version of themselves for others.
During our time together, you will be guided by Kalise to dive deeper into practices to help you feel balanced at a time we’re all running on empty. There will be opportunities to ground together, journal, reflect, and to learn and experience techniques to help you feel prepared to take care of your students, while also taking care of yourself, your relationships, and your families.
“They make it bearable with dedicated time each week devoted to our well-being as we help our students. They have created a safe space for our self-care.”
–JoAnne Grandstaff, MA. Browning, MT
Leadership Workshop: Supporting the Culture of Well-Being
The culture of wellness in a building is often a direct result of how the leadership views the importance of well-being. Well-being affects burnout, job performance, turnover, engagement, student performance, and more in your organization. In this workshop, leaders will learn how to model and support wellness for their staff and students to enhance the culture of their buildings.
Professional Development Days: Wellness Opportunities
We coordinate wellness activities for staff to help support compassion resilience and self-care as part of trauma-informed and social-emotional care and learning. Simply let us know how much time you have and any special requests or requirements, then we’ll organize the rest to show your staff that they have permission to take care of themselves. Since we’re taking care of it all, the administration staff are free to become role models for their staff by engaging in the activities as well.
